I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of guides on how to survive long flights. Here’s my olfactory guide.
- Shower immediately before leaving for the airport.
- Don’t go crazy in duty free before a 14-hour flight. In a confined plane, your neighbours may hate the perfumes you’re testing out.
- Take a change of socks, and take your shoes off when you’re sitting down. Take spare underwear, too.
- Brush your teeth. I don’t know why, but breath is always worse on planes.
- Do a 4-to-5-hour stopover if you have two long flights. Have a shower and a decent meal so you feel human again before your next flight.
